NRAs have an obligation to work in the public interest, maintaining their independence and overseeing energy markets for the benefit of consumers; - Members and Observers collaborate on energy regulation issues, including wholesale and retail electricity and gas market design, smart networks and consumer empowerment; - is at the forefront of efforts to protect and empower energy customers; - produces fact-based reports, position papers, technical advice and forward-thinking recommendations; and - organises public consultations, workshops and other public events (all free of charge) which are important as CEER is committed to dialogue and engagement with energy stakeholders in the development of the energy regulatory framework. CEER is a not-for-profit association under Belgian law, based in Brussels, with 9 permanent staff. The CEER Secretariat is headed up by Secretary General Mara Berzina. Annegret Groebel (DE) was re-elected CEER President in January 2024 for the 2.5-year term.
