The ETUI provides research and training support to the European trade union movement. The Brussels-based Institute conducts research into European issues of strategic importance for the world of labour and promotes education and training activities with th e aim of enhancing the capacity of workers' organisations to contribute to social dialogue and building a social Europe.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The ETUI is seeking a Documentalist and Communication Officer to join our team. The ETUI is seeking to hire a new colleague having a hybrid position within the ETUI Documentation Centre and the ComPub Unit.

Working in an international environment under the supervision of the Head of ComPub, you will support both units by managing physical and digital collections, monitoring literature, overseeing databases (Labourline), checking publication bibliographies, and supporting web and social media publishing activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Documentation & Database Management: Manage physical document collections (cataloguing, indexing, filing) and oversee the Labourline database (collecting, encoding, and indexing information).
• Literature Monitoring & Verification: Perform literature monitoring in ETUI priority areas for researchers and management; check and align publication bibliographies with internal editorial standards.
• Digital Publishing: Register and publish new ETUI publications across platforms (ETUI website, Labourline, SSRN, CrossRef) and manage legal repository submissions.
• Communication Support: Assist the Communications team with website maintenance (CMS), digital content updates, and social media activities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Ability to carry out standard library operations and manage physical/digital collections.
• Mastery of specific information management software (e.g., Kentika or similar document management systems is an asset).
• Proficiency in ICT and reference management tools (MS Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, Zotero).
• Experience with website management tools (CMS) and basic digital/social media communications skills.
• Experience with CRM software is an advantage.
• Highly organized and rigorous, with strong planning, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
• Intellectually curious, open-minded, and a good team player.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• A bachelor's degree in librarianship, information science, social sciences, or equivalent.
• Several years' experience in a similar role is desirable (experience in a non-profit or international organisation is an asset).
• Fluency in English and/or French (the Institute's working languages, with at least a readiness to learn the other); knowledge of another European language is an asset.
• Knowledge of European Union institutions and the trade union movement is a distinct advantage.

Starting salary for Category C2 is € 4 128 gross per month (based on full-time employment).

In accordance with the ETUI's internal policy, this role allows for a maximum of 10 days of remote work per month (pro-rata for part-time staff).
